Welcome to TownSquare! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TownSquare marketplace platform. By accessing or using TownSquare, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, browsing, or making purchases on TownSquare, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility: TownSquare is available to users of all ages. Minors may use the platform with parental or guardian supervision.
2. About TownSquare
TownSquare LLC ("TownSquare," "we," "us," or "our") operates a multi-vendor e-commerce marketplace connecting buyers with independent sellers offering fashion, lifestyle products, and electronics in Ghana.
TownSquare operates a managed hub-and-spoke fulfillment model. Every order physically passes through our verification hub before reaching the customer. We handle pickup from vendors, quality verification, branded packaging, and last-mile delivery through our in-house logistics partner, TurboTown. This ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for every purchase.

3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform.
4. Buyer Terms
4.1 Purchasing
- All prices are displayed in Ghana Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise stated
- Orders are subject to availability and acceptance by the seller
- You agree to pay all charges incurred, including applicable taxes and delivery fees
- Payment is processed securely through Paystack
4.2 Order Confirmation
Once you place an order, you will receive an email confirmation. This does not constitute acceptance of your order. Your order is confirmed when the seller accepts and prepares the item for pickup by our logistics team.
4.3 Delivery & Fulfillment
TownSquare manages the entire fulfillment process through our hub-and-spoke model. When you place an order, the following process takes place:
- Pickup: Our logistics partner TurboTown collects the item directly from the vendor.
- Hub Verification: Every item is received at our verification hub where it is inspected for accuracy, condition, and authenticity against the order details (SKU, colour, size).
- Packaging: TownSquare controls all packaging. Items are packed in branded packaging to ensure a consistent unboxing experience.
- Last-Mile Delivery: The verified and packed order is dispatched to your delivery address.
Delivery times vary by location within Ghana. Estimated delivery windows are displayed at checkout. While we strive to meet these estimates, delays may occur due to factors outside our control.
4.4 Quality Guarantee
Because every item passes through our verification hub before dispatch, we catch issues like wrong items, damaged goods, and counterfeit products before they reach you. This means you can shop with confidence knowing that your order has been independently verified by our team.
5. Seller Terms
5.1 Eligibility to Sell
To become a seller on TownSquare, you must:
- Provide valid business registration documents
- Maintain accurate bank account information for payouts
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Ghana
- Sell only permitted product categories
5.2 Commission Structure
Standard Commission: 10%
TownSquare charges a 10% commission on each sale, calculated on the item price before delivery fees.
Premium Subscription: Sellers can subscribe to premium features for enhanced visibility and additional tools. Premium subscription fees apply separately.
5.3 Product Listings
Sellers must:
- Provide accurate product descriptions, images, and pricing
- Honour the prices and terms displayed in their listings
- Maintain adequate inventory of listed items
- Not misrepresent products or engage in deceptive practices
5.4 Order Fulfillment
TownSquare's fulfillment model means sellers do not ship directly to customers. Instead:
- Sellers must prepare items for collection within 2 business days of order confirmation
- TurboTown will collect items from the seller's registered location
- Items must be transit-ready — sellers are not responsible for customer-facing packaging
- Sellers must respond to platform inquiries within 24 hours
Vendors have no direct communication with customers. TownSquare owns the customer relationship end-to-end.
5.5 Payouts
Seller payouts are gated on delivery confirmation, not dispatch. Funds are released only after:
- The customer has confirmed delivery
- The refund window (7 days after delivery) has expired with no open return or dispute
Once cleared, funds are transferred to the seller's registered bank account via Paystack, minus the 10% commission and any applicable fees.
6. Prohibited Items and Activities
6.1 Permitted Products
TownSquare currently permits the sale of:
- Clothing and fashion accessories
- Electronics and tech accessories
Product categories may expand over time. Sellers will be notified of any changes.
6.2 Prohibited Items
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Counterfeit or unauthorised goods
- Illegal or regulated substances
- Weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials
- Adult content or services
- Stolen goods or items violating intellectual property rights
6.3 Prohibited Conduct
Users must not:
- Engage in fraudulent transactions or payment disputes
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Attempt to circumvent platform fees or payment systems
- Use automated bots or scraping tools
- Post false reviews or manipulate ratings
- Attempt to transact directly with vendors outside the platform
7. Hub Verification & Quality Assurance
Every item sold on TownSquare undergoes mandatory verification at our hub before dispatch to the customer. Our verification process checks:
- Item matches the order details (SKU, colour, size)
- Item matches the product listing description and images
- Item condition — no damage, defects, or signs of wear
- Item completeness — all components and accessories present
- Authenticity — counterfeit items are flagged and held
Verification Outcomes
Pass: Item proceeds to branded packaging and last-mile dispatch.
Fail — Wrong Item: Item returned to vendor. Order is cancelled or held, and a refund is initiated for the customer.
Fail — Damaged: Item returned to vendor. Vendor may be penalised. Refund initiated for the customer.
Fail — Counterfeit: Item is held. Vendor account is flagged for review. Refund initiated for the customer.
This process eliminates the vast majority of item-related disputes before they reach the customer.
8. Disputes and Customer Service
8.1 Reporting Issues
Because all items are verified at our hub, most product quality issues are caught before delivery. However, customers have 15 days from delivery to report issues including:
- Items not received or lost in transit
- Damage that occurred during last-mile delivery
- Any discrepancy missed during hub verification

8.2 Dispute Resolution
TownSquare will mediate disputes between buyers and sellers according to industry-standard practices. We aim to resolve issues fairly and promptly. Our decision in disputes is final.
8.3 Returns and Refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Please review it for detailed information.
9. Payment Terms
All payments are processed through Paystack, our secure payment gateway. By making a purchase, you agree to Paystack's terms and conditions.
- Payment must be made at the time of order
- We accept mobile money, debit cards, and credit cards
- Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
- Currency: Ghana Cedis (GHS)
10. Intellectual Property
All content on TownSquare, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by TownSquare LLC or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
Sellers retain ownership of their product images and descriptions but grant TownSquare a licence to display them on the platform and in marketing materials.
11. Limitation of Liability
TownSquare operates as a managed marketplace. While we verify items and manage fulfillment, certain limitations apply.
To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law:
- TownSquare's liability for any individual transaction is limited to the total amount paid by the buyer for that transaction
- We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
- While we verify items at our hub, we cannot guarantee the long-term quality, durability, or fitness for purpose of products sold by independent sellers
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TownSquare, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use of TownSquare after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Accra, Ghana.
